Summer Camp 2012
We are so sad when the Summer Camp came to an end. We had the best week!
Friday was brilliant….
That morning, we planted crocus bulbs with Georgina, our gardener, who has made our school garden look so beautiful. These pots are now in the garden and we look forward to seeing them flower in February. The lettuce seeds that we planted on the Monday of Summer Camp are beginning to sprout already!
We wrote the procedure on ‘How to plant a seed’….so if you need any advice, just ask us!
In the afternoon, the Lord Mayor of Dublin came to our ‘Show and Tell’ to present us with medals and certificates! He made everyone do a Mexican Wave! The first Mexican Wave in Central Model Infants’ School – we’ve made history! We were delighted so many members of our families came along too and we showed everyone our plants, our paintings and other work we did during the week. Brandon explained to everyone how we planted the lettuce seeds, Aliyah spoke about the paintings we did and Jennifer told everyone about our trip to the library. Lots of the boys and girls named their favourite activities from the Summer Camp.
Three trophies were awarded for ‘Most Helpful’, ‘Most Friendly’ and ‘Best Behaviour’ and the Lord Mayor presented them to Tori, Lennon and Preston.
Well done boys and girls, you have been absolutely fantastic! Caroline, Louise and Carmel loved that you took part in the Summer Camp this year.
Today, we went on a trip to our local library in The Ilac Centre. A HUGE “Thank you!” to Kimberley’s Mammy and Daddy, Aliyah’s Nanny and Shauna and Jennifer’s Ma for coming along with us – we really appreciated your help.
The library was great – Catherine and Henry, two of the lovely people that work there, read us some really good stories including ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ by Eric Carle. We played a great game of ‘Simon Says!’ – there were lots of winners, we were just too good for Catherine! We wandered around and chose some books that we wanted to look through and read ourselves and chatted about them with our friends.
