Room 3’s Trip to Dublin Zoo.
Room 3 recently visited Dublin Zoo for our Senior Infant School Tour. We had such a wonderful day roaming around the Zoo grounds and observing so many different species of animals. For many of us this was our first time to visit a zoo and to see these animals in real life, so there was huge excitement among the group.
We were lucky enough to get to see the Asian elephants at feeding time; the Zoo just recently celebrated the birth of a female elephant calf. The new arrival is the fifth elephant calf born at Dublin Zoo in less than three years. Everyone was so excited to see the elephants (especially the babies) eating and enjoying a water fight afterwards.
The hippos, sea lions, snow leopards, chimpanzees and tigers were other favourites among our class and the next day upon returning to school each of us picked our favourite animal and wrote a report on them.
To finish off an amazing day everyone enjoyed a picnic and some playtime in the indoor adventure area.
Room 3 had a marvelous time in Dublin Zoo!
