Room 6 had a fantastic visit to The Hugh Lane Gallery on Friday. It was so exciting to leave the school and go on a trip! We walked to the Garden of Remembrance first and had a quick snack in the lovely surroundings and sunshine. We then went to the gallery and focused on three paintings in particular. We had lots of thoughts and discussions about what we liked. We sketched our ideas about each painting while we looked at it. We used pencils and pastels. We had spent time looking at these pictures in our classroom and had a go recreating Landline Gray. Seán Scully painted this picture on aluminum so we painted on tin foil. We think our paintings look as fabulous as the original!
