The children and teachers of the Central Model Infants' School were very excited when we had some very special guests last week. Dublin footballer Michael Darragh Macauley came to visit our school and with him he brought the Brendan Martin Cup which the Dublin ladies have won 3 times in a row and the Sam Maguire Cup which the Dublin mens team have won a historical 5 times in a row.
We asked Michael Darragh a few questions about how we can become as successful as the Dublin G.A.A. teams and sang him a rendition of Molly Malone. Micheal Darragh encouraged the boys and girls in our school to keep active, no matter what the sport and keep moving. Lots of the children in our school attend the Scoil Uí Conaill G.A.A. Academy which is on in Larkin Community College, every Wednesday from 5-6pm and is free of charge. We hope there are some future G.A.A. super stars who will bring Brendan Martin or Sam Maguire back to our school in years to come!
