Dare to Believe visit

The children from first class have been learning all about the Olympics lately.

Through the Dare to Believe programme, we learned lots of interesting facts about the Olympics.

We learned all about the Olympic rings and what they represent. We also learned about Irelands first Olympic medals, which to our much to our surprise were not for athletics or boxing but for art and poetry in 1924!

We were so excited to welcome Paralympic athlete Greta Steimkikyte to our school. We had so many questions for Greta about when she moved to Ireland, when she first started running, what sports she would do if she didn't run, other athletes she knows and all about her training. Greta shared all her wisdom with us and led us in some movement breaks.

We look forward to cheering her on in September when she competes in her next race!
