Happy Christmas from Room 4

Happy Christmas from Room 4

Room 4 have had a busy few weeks preparing for Christmas. We were learning about how Christmas is celebrated all around the world and the different traditions of different countries. We looked at Santas journey as he delivers presents throughout the world and learned all about reindeer. We also learned about the Sikh celebration of Guru Nanak and the American celebration of Thanksgiving.

We also had some vistors in our class in December - Sinterklaas visited us on December 6th and filled our shoes with chocolates. Santa Claus visited our class and brought us presents - we were delighted to get new play doh and markers to do amazing colouring. We wrote letters to Santa and he was so impressed with our handwriting that our Elf Eddie left us some hot chocolate and cookies to thank us for our kind messages. We also listened to the book 'A Dublin Christmas' with the author Nicola Colton on Zoom. She let us interview her after the book and we created our own elves. Earlier in the term we enjoyed doing lots of experiments and celebrating Science Week.

We hope you enjoy a selection of the poems and songs we have been learning this term.
