Aquatics is one of the six strands of the P.E. curriculum. Each class will get the opportunity to attend swimming lessons while they are in junior infants, senior infants and first class in Central Model Infants' School. These swimming lessons are an excellent chance for the children to become more confident in the water, learn water safety, learn to float and begin to master some simple swimming strokes.
We are so lucky that our school is so close to Sean McDermott Street Swimming Pool. The children of Room 4 have just completed their 5 weeks of swimming lessons run by Swim Ireland. It has been amazing to see the children progress each week while overcoming their fears and become more confident swimmers.
