In November, we learned all about people who help us - the caretaker, the traffic warden, the Garda, the hairdresser/barber, the farmer, the firefighter, the vet, the teacher, the secretary.
Our school caretaker, Tracey, and the traffic wardens, Tom and Cynthia, came to visit us! We asked them interesting questions about their jobs.
We counted 19 keys on Tracey's keyring! Our caretaker opens up our school each morning and locks it every evening. She makes sure all the windows and doors are closed. She sweeps the leaves in our yard so that we won't slip on them when they are wet. Tracey helps to keep us safe in school.
Cynthia and Tom help us to cross the road safely when we are coming to school and when we are going home. The traffic wardens reminded us to cross the road in front of them, on the yellow box. We practised waiting for their hand signal to cross, making sure to walk in front of them.
Tracey, Tom and Cynthia said we are such friendly children and they love when we say "Hello!" to them!
We are so happy the caretaker and traffic wardens came to chat to us. They do such important work in our school community.
Míle buíochas! (Thanks so much!)
