Hello to all our Senior Infant families,
Thanks to those of you who emailed us pictures of your work from last week. Keep an eye on the website to see it posted there! Keep sending pictures of the things you are doing at home and we will always reply with some encouragement and praise.
Our theme for this week is “Under the Sea”
There’ll be lots of learning around our water-based theme such as water safety, sea creatures, science experiments using water, capacity, and much more! For your information, the sight words lists that are included in the plan are words that your child will encounter all the way from Junior Infants to 1st Class so please don’t worry if your child is struggling to read them. They will see them again next year. Make sure to read the “Tips for Parents” section in the plan with help on how to teach sight words.
As always, the activities we set are a guideline for you to help your child while they learn at home. No printer is needed for the activities-use your gorgeous copies, markers and colouring pencils that you received in the post! The documents and worksheets that we attach are only meant to inspire some ideas for further learning. There are lots of links to websites and YouTube so we hope some of you have access to a device to enjoy these (with adult supervision).
Try to make the most of the beautiful weather outside, in a socially distanced way, of course. Keep safe and healthy. Look after each other and yourselves.
Keep Safe and Take Care,
The Senior Infants’ Team

**Please ensure children are supervised during their use of Digital Technology and when accessing the internet. Try, where possible, to limit your child’s screen-time and avail of suggested activities and resources.
