We have had a great, fun week in Room 5!
The Easter bunny left clues for us to find chocolate eggs so we went on an Easter egg hunt…. We followed the clues around the school and eventually found them in the office with Valerie! The Easter bunny had left a message on her computer saying we could have two eggs each! They were yummy!
We produced beautiful pieces of Easter art also. We each made an Easter egg collage using crepe paper. These can be hung at home and they all look so pretty!
Happy Easter everyone! Enjoy the Easter break!
Last week we had lots of fun marking St Patrick’s Day in school. In the middle of all the celebrations we made some unusual ‘cairde’…by creating some funky junk art sculptures! It was great working with each other to make some really unusual creations using recycled materials. Here we are designing them together:
And here are our finished pieces – meet ‘Torpedo Súile Dearg’, ‘Tower of Terror’, Rocket Monster’, ‘Superman Strong’ and ‘Barbie’.
We have also been learning that poems are little stories that rhyme. So, to celebrate World Poetry Day today, we thought of some fantastic rhyming stories about our junk-art friends – we imagined where they live, what they like to do and their favourite foods! Then we typed them up ourselves on the computer and included some great illustrations too!
